Uniting our hearts for Eastern DRC

A joint citizens' initiative for an urgent humanitarian and health response.

Who are we?

In the face of the tragedy striking Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, a joint citizens' platform has arisen with a single watchword: act now. This initiative brings together national and international actors committed to a humane, swift and effective response:

  • Lion Damien Club — a non-governmental organization committed to the promotion of human rights, education, and conflict and crisis management, affiliated with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).
  • The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) — an institutional partner and key actor in the protection of fundamental rights in the DRC.
  • The International Circle of the Banner of Peace — a worldwide movement working for peace, culture and solidarity among peoples, chaired by Mr. Thierry Bécourt.
  • The SOS RDC platform — a grassroots citizens' initiative bringing together volunteers, activists and civil society actors.

Together, these four actors form a united, legitimate and credible coalition, in service of the population in distress in the east of the country.

Why this appeal?

Eastern DRC is experiencing a situation of extreme emergency: massacres, sexual violence, forced displacement, disease, hunger. Children are dying amid indifference, the wounded are dying without care, mothers are giving birth in the mud. Together, we can change things.

With 10 euros, you can treat a wounded child or elderly person, provide a hot meal or an emergency food kit, supply a health centre with vital medicines, or help rehabilitate a temporary shelter. Every euro saves a life.

This campaign is carried out by a transparent and accountable platform, backed by recognized national and international partners, ensuring rigorous management of funds, regular reporting on their use, and an active presence on the ground.
