International Institutions

  • 20 Ukrainian cultural properties placed under enhanced protection September 7, 2023 — UNESCO's Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict granted provisional enhanced protection to 20 Ukrainian sites, under the Second Protocol of the 1954 Hague Convention — the highest level of immunity provided for under international humanitarian law.   • Open letter to international bodies France — The association Bannière de la Paix France (also known as Pax Cultura France), founded and chaired by Thierry Bécourt — also President of the CIBP —, published an open letter warning of the threats facing the world's cultural heritage and calling for the application of the Hague protocols.
